SUNSHINE URBANIAK
Painting
is my release. Not so much me having the need to express myself,
it's more like an energy transfer. When I don't paint for a
while, this incredible need comes over me and I need to paint.
It's truly part of my life.
I was born an artist, picking up a paint brush at the age of
2, and I never put it down since. I've tried many mediums,
and I always come back to acrylic on canvas. My style has always
been abstract expressionism, but I'm always trying new subjects
(see flowers). I love to paint large color fields, and mostly,
adding texture. I want my art to have depth and shadows, as
if it's alive and breathing.
I grew up in New Jersey, moving from west, to south and eventually
north, just outside New York City. I moved to the San Francisco
Bay area in 1995 and fell in love with it. This is my new home
away from home. |
